GEOFON Program

A second GEOFON station became operational in Lithuania (Paberze, Central Lithuania, PABE) on April 24th, 2012. It is owned and operated by the Lithuanian Geological Survey in Vilnius. Another new station was installed in Jordan close to the South end of the Dead Sea (Ghor Hadith, GHAJ) within the DESERVE project in cooperation with the Jordan Seismogical Observatory. First data became available on May 9th, 2012.
